COD Vanguard Nikita AVT Camo Bug Prevents Players From Getting Diamond

Recommended Videos

A bug is preventing players from getting the diamond skin on Nikita AVT, a new gun that was released with the most recent season of Vanguard. Following the third season’s release for Vanguard and Warzone, titled Classified Arms, came adjustments to existing contents and the addition of new ones. Things of note include the map Mayhem which takes place on a movie set, and the two new guns that were added, in particular, the M1916: Marksman Rifle and the Nikita AVT: Assault Rifle.

In Vanguard, it is possible to unlock weapon camos for the corresponding gun when they are used in combat to accomplish objectives. Challenges such as killing a certain number of enemies, getting headshots, or multiple kills without dying. The list of unlockable camos is rather extensive, with the list including the completionist camouflages, where it becomes possible for a player to deck their guns in gold after they’ve completed all the possible challenges for that gun. This further extends to Diamond skins, when a player has gotten the gold skin for a certain number of weapons of the same class.

But you can’t get those gold or diamond camos if the game isn’t tracking your progress properly, which is a problem that some players are experiencing. A post made to the subreddit of Vanguard details the grievance of one such player. Due to the nature of being able to use Vanguard guns in Warzone, he attempted to get the Diamond skin for the Nikita AVT in Warzone, triggering a bug in the process. The gun due to having an additional camo on Warzone moved the diamond camo out of its original position in the skin list, seemingly disabling the challenge tracker alongside it.

As can be seen from the screenshot, the progress shows 1/2 for a challenge that requires the gold camo of 7 assault rifles. Making the challenge broken by nature. Though it is interesting to note that other players responding in the thread have seemingly not encountered such issues whilst going for the weapon camos, most have cited their gameplay sessions to have only been on Vanguard and not on Warzone, however.

This sounds rather similar to some of the past challenge tracking issues that the game has had in terms of camos, albeit on a larger scale. Which might make this trickier to fix. Considering cross-progression is one of the main selling points of playing both Vanguard and Warzone, bugs like this are difficult to account for whenever a new patch is released for both games simultaneously.

As there’s no guarantee as to how quickly the development team will notice and address such issues, it’s difficult not to be empathetic towards those who are affected, especially considering that those are challenges that take a considerate amount of time to finish.

Call of Duty Vanguard is available now on Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and the PC.
