Dark Souls 3 is nearly upon us, and what better way to prepare for it then to check out how the PC version compares with the PlayStation 4 version? Thanks to Digital Foundry we have a video that does just that, comparing graphics and frame-rate for both versions of the game.
The biggest victory that the PC version has over the PlayStation 4 version is a superior frame-rate, with the PC’s 60fps dwarfing the PS4’s 30fps that also occasionally dips below that.
Other things like shadow quality and motion blur are also better on PC, although not to as drastic of an extent as the frame-rate. Basically, if you have a PC that is up to snuff then check out the PC version, though everyone else should be fine with the PlayStation 4 version. Updates are expected to come for the PlayStation 4 version that will smooth out the frame-rate issues.
