DayZ to become official standalone title

by | @AttackFanboy | on August 7, 2012

The popular Arma II mod, DayZ, will be developed as a standalone title. The stand-alone game will be led by the DayZ mod creator and published by Arma II developers Bohemia Interactive. It is said that this is “fairy tale outcome for a mod that many would have said impossible four months ago,” said the mod’s creator.

Development for the stand-alone title will continue in tandem with the updates to the mod, meaning players that are currently playing the DayZ mod will be able to continue doing so. The DayZ standalone project will follow in the footsteps of Minecraft’s development model.

Over the coming weeks, Bohemia plans to outline more of their development plans for the game, and can be followed at Dayzgame.com
