Motion Twin has announced that Dead Cells will be coming to consoles in 2018. The popular rogue-lite released last year on Steam into Early Access and quickly gained popularity for its great combat system, randomized levels, and unique visual style. The game has been called a 2D Dark Souls as players need to use many different tactics and careful planning to avoid death in the game.
While the game is still in Early Access on Steam, it has overwhelmingly positive reviews due to the developers constantly updating and improving on it since launch. With no “Early Access” on the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, it sounds like Dead Cells is going to be ready for 1.0 release this year on all platforms.
Tweets from the developer revealed that the game will be coming to Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 in 2018, but did not reveal a price for the game.  It currently cost $19.99 on Steam, and it could have a similar price on consoles. Due to the nature of the game and its replayability, Dead Cells is one of those games that definitely feels like it gives you your monies worth.
Unfortunately, Dead Cells was still in Early Access at the end of last year but it still made my top-10 list for the year. So when is the release date for Dead Cells on consoles? Right now the developers have shared neither a release date or window for when to expect the game.
