The release date for the Blu-ray of the Deadpool movie has now been revealed. The star of the movie even joked that it will also come out in older formats.
Ryan Reynolds announced on Twitter: “I’m coming… on Blu-ray MAY 10. Also, non-existent special edition VHS and LaserDisc, 19 years ago.”
Presumably, the May 10th release date is also when the movie will be out on DVD and digital formats too. The home release of Deadpool is coming out much earlier than listings that have appeared on Amazon so that’s a good thing.
Since today is April 1st, Reynolds was only joking that the movie is coming out on VHS and LaserDisc. Those formats have been obsolete for many years. The only people that still talk about those formats are the characters from the cartoon The Regular Show.
Bear in mind the May 10th release date is aimed for the North American market. The release date could be different if you live elsewhere so check at your local retailer if you are unsure.
The Deadpool movie was a hit when it came out back in February and is currently the highest grossing movie of 2016. It’s possible Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will overtake it soon, but it’s an impressive feat since it is rated R.
