Despite recent rumors, Nether Realm Studios Injustice 2 release date is not set to arrive on March 28th.  Some sites have cited a pre-order incentive from Xbox that listed the release date for the game on that date, but Ed Boon has confirmed that this is not the case via Twitter.
Boon says, “FYI: Injustice 2 is not coming out March 28.”
A lot of previous Nether Realm titles have arrived in April, but the studio has yet to put a firm release date on the comic book themed fighting game.
A milestone that they may be looking to hit, however, is EVO 2017. Â Releasing ahead of the fighting game convention/tournament has generally been something that studios like to make. Â Given the fact that it could give them a platform to reveal the game to a very targeted audience.
There hasn’t been much news about Injustice 2 for quite some time. Â Hopefully, we’re not looking at an even longer wait for the fighter. Â Perhaps Boon and Co. Â are prepping a info-dump for 2017, but there haven’t been any major announcements recently.
It would be nice to think that the studio is taking there time with this one, after the debacle that was Mortal Kombat X on PC. Â While they more or less rectified issues with that game, it did take quite some time before the game was updated for that platform.
We’ll have to wait and see what Boon, Nether Realm or Warner Bros Interactive says about the game in the coming weeks regarding release date timing for Injustice 2. Â But if you saw the recent rumors of the March 28th release date for Injustice 2, it appears that they aren’t true and it could be somewhat longer.
The original Injustice released back in April 2013. Â The game saw mostly favorable reviews, according to its Metacritic listing on Xbox 360 the score for the game settled at 81.
