Destiny’s servers will be offline tomorrow, October 7th, for several hours. The reason for this downtime is due to an incoming update that is said to resolve connection issues and a quick scoping bug.
The announcement came via Twitter, where it was revealed that we will all have to find another game or activity to fill our time with for “a few hours” come tomorrow morning. Although, some of us may sleep through most, if not all, of the update since it begins at 7 AM PST.
The small list of changes can be found here on Bungie’s website, but you can read the following summary for a quick rundown of impending changes: “Most of the changes included in this update will improve the technology that enables players to connect to Destiny. The player experience will remain unchanged, aside from the stability for some users who have encountered issues connecting to servers.”
Enjoy the night, Guardians. Get your fill of grinding Strikes, the final moments of quick scoping in the Crucible and listening to the Ben Stein-style narration courtesy of Peter Dinklage before you are forced to leave it all alone for a good while.
