Destiny Down for Maintenance This Thursday for Multiple Hours

Destiny will be down for multiple hours tomorrow, February 4th 2016 for some scheduled maintenance being done by Bungie. Starting at 9am Pacific Time and running until 2pm, Destiny and its servers will be offline, impacting multiple services related to the game, including just being able to get on and play. However, players will be unable to login starting at 8am, giving those online some time to hop off before things are taken offline.

Aside from being unable to play the game, Bungie.net will also be taken down during this maintenance window, leaving services on the site and the Destiny app in a restricted state. Those signing into the game should receive a warning some time before the maintenance begins, so watch out for that if you’re playing Destiny tomorrow morning.

There is no word on what this maintenance will entail, and what it might be altering about the game. Most likely players will find things unchanged once they hop back on, but Bungie usually uses these maintenance windows to prepare for larger updates that are coming soon. The February update is going to change a fair number of things about the game, so that could be related to this planned downtime.

Hopefully the maintenance goes well and is completed on time, if it isn’t then check back here for updates as Bungie usually issues them for any extended outages.
