Destiny just concluded its first Trials of Osiris even in Year Two. The post-The Taken King version of the mode saw major shifts in the gameplay, presenting a more challenging, yet more rewarding experience this time around. Bungie has released some stats for the mode, showing that only a few select individuals actually conquered the challenge and emerged victorious in Mercury’s Lighthouse.
820,986 total Guardians entered Destiny’s Trial of Osiris this time around, but of those only 133,444 made it to the ultimate reward. The Lighthouse is found on Mercury and is the culmination of a perfect round of Destiny. By winning nine matches in a row, without a single loss, players will be sent here to receive some extremely rare and powerful loot.
Those 133,444 players made up just 16.25% of the total that entered the challenging mode, meaning those rewards were quite exclusive this time around. In fact, the total number of winners was way down from the last Trials of Osiris event, which saw 188,442 players enter the Lighthouse.
As far as the future of Destiny is concerned, Bungie made a couple of promises. “As part of the November update, we’re authorizing Banshee-44 as your Weapon Parts dealer. He’ll accept Glimmer as a form of payment…On that note, you’ll see yet more welcome changes to the in-game economy in the December update. Rumor has it that Petra will have use for your Etheric Light, and Eris has been asking if anyone out there is hoarding a surplus of Worm Spore.”
Destiny is available now for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
