After leaving Tecmo in 2008, gamers have been awaiting the inevitable return of Tomonobu Itagaki, ever since his formation of Valhalla Game Studios. After THQ’s closure last year, the studio’s first game, Devil’s Third, has been in limbo. However, now it has been revealed that the game is still definitely coming, this time as a Wii U exclusive.
Originally set to release on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, this exclusivity announcement is big news for Nintendo and their struggling console. In an interview with IGN, Itagaki spoke about how Nintendo “really understood [his] vision]” and how he felt that he “really had to work with them.”
Devil’s Third is still scheduled to release sometime this year, but no specific date has been given at this time.
