Devolver Digital is one of the more bizarre video game publishers, from it’s psychedelic E3 press conferences,  to it’s enigmatic CFO Fork Parker. It’s not too surprising that they’d be the company to pull this sort of stunt. Devolver Digital has just released a game of their own for the Super Nintendo (or Super Famicom). The game released is called Fork Parker’s Crunch Out, and yes it can only be played on the SNES, although there is a demo version available. The game itself lets players take control of the titular Fork Parker, and manage crunch time at Devolver Digital. Do whatever you can to keep your employees awake and working to meet those strenuous video game deadlines.

This isn’t just a satirical take on the video game industry’s concept of crunch. It’s also a charity event. 100% of the profits from the game will be given to Take This, a charity dedicated to raising awareness, destigmatizing, preventing mental illness in the video game industry. Crunch can be damaging to the mental health of developers and Devolver is doing it’s part to raise awareness of the issue, and supporting it’s prevention.
