Diablo 3 is set to receive a brand new piece of DLC with the Rise of the Necromancer. Along with some story content and other tidbits, the DLC offers up a brand new class to try out. Well, not brand new, the Necromancer is more of an update from the original classics, but it’s new to Diablo 3! We got to try this new character out at PAX East, and now people at home will get the same privilege with the recently announced Diablo 3 Necromancer closed beta. Here’s all the details, including how to sign up.

First up, how to sign up. To get into the Diablo 3 Necromancer closed beta, or any beta for the game, click here and edit your profile settings. You want to select that you are interested in participating in betas for Diablo, then be sure to save those changes if necessary. Doing so will put you in the running, but Blizzard will only be choosing a select number of players to try out the new DLC. If you are chosen then you will receive an email with instructions on how to proceed.

Another important question is, what will be in this beta? Blizzard answered in their FAQ, saying “Players who participate will have access to all of the Necromancer’s skills and abilities, as well as other Patch 2.6.0 content. In addition, new Legendary and Set items unique to the Necromancer will be added in over time. Our upcoming patch notes will have all the details on what’s included.”

There is also no NDA for this upcoming beta, which should start very soon. Players in the program will be able to share their thoughts as well as screenshots and video from the game. Blizzard is still working on the update and the Necromancer class, so they would also like any feedback from the community on the changes and additions.
