Slowly but surely, DICE is revealing details about their upcoming Battle Royale mode in Battlefield V. Today we’ve gotten a few more details regarding the mode which were included in a Battlefield V trailer dubbed “This is Battlefield V.”
DICE has revealed today that the Battlefield V Battle Royale Mode will be called Firestorm and that it will be a squad-based affair. It was announced that Firestorm would feature 16 teams of four players and it’s assumed that this will be the only way to play the mode. The map for the new mode is said to be the largest Battlefield map ever created according to the trailer.
The developers call it a sandbox filled with destructible buildings, weaponry, and vehicles. Aside from these small details, DICE has yet to reveal any new gameplay from the mode. Taking what we’ve learned from the last two Battlefield V trailers, Firestorm is going to be a 64-player mode, will be squad-based, will feature vehicles, and will use the shrinking map mechanic of Fortnite and PUBG by using a circle of fire.
Firestorm Battle Royale will not be arriving at launch for Battlefield V, but shortly after the newly delayed release date. Battlefield V is set to arrive on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on November 20th, 2018.
