Divinity: Original Sin 2, the acclaimed RPG by Larian Studios, is now coming to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One thanks to the efforts of Bandai Namco.
The original version debuted on the PC in September 2017 thanks to a successful Kickstarter two years earlier which raised $2 million from backers to aid in development.
Described as a sandbox RPG, the game set itself apart from the pack thanks to the unprecedented levels of freedom and immersion it offered players. Furthermore, the game features “six unique origin characters with full-fledged backstories, personalities, and questlines: Red Prince, a haughty but heroic lizard noble; Sebille, an elven assassin; Lohse, a possessed musician; Ifan ben-Mezd, a mercenary ex-soldier; Beast, a rebel-turned-pirate dwarf; and Fane, an undead member of the long-forgotten Eternal race.”
As for the console version of the game, Bandai Namco promised in a press release that it will endeavor to make Divinity: Original Sin 2 an enjoyable experience on consoles by incorporating things such as “a user interface tailored for console play in both four-player online co-op and two-player split-screen co-op modes.” Furthermore, the publisher said to expect Content updates and extra features.
Divinity: Original Sin 2 is available now for PC and is due out for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in August 2018.
