As we all start settling into a new month, Nintendo brings more NES games to their Nintendo Switch Online subscription service. This month, we’re getting some follow-ups to games already available on the service.
Nintendo recently announced that Donkey Kong Jr., VS. Excitebike, and Clu Clu Land will become available via their online subscription service starting on May 15. Donkey Kong Jr. was originally released in 1982, just a year after the first Donkey Kong, as an arcade game before later being ported to the Famicom in Japan and the NES in the West. Interestingly, Mario (or Jumpman, rather) actually plays the antagonist in this installment. VS. Excitebike is a newer version of the original Excitebike that came out in 1988 (the original was released in 1984) that included a new mode that allowed for two players to race against each other. Clu Clu Land is a classic puzzle game developed by Nintendo as an arcade game in 1984 before later releasing on the Famicom and NES.
These games will join the likes of the original Donkey Kong and Excitebike on the Nintendo Switch Online service’s NES app, as well as several more classics like Super Mario Bros. 3, The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, and Kirby’s Adventure.
