DOOM Eternal is setting up to be the biggest news coming out of QuakeCon 2018. The world gameplay premiere is set to be revealed on August 10th, and Pete Hines (Marketing Executive) thinks that people are going to “lose their ****” at the Bethesda convention.
Hines says via Twitter that he’s seen the latest build of the game, presumably what they’re going to be showing at the QuakeCon reveal, and says that “It’s Crazy Good.” Take this for what you will, but Hines also said just a few tweets later that he’s really into 90’s romantic comedies. A man of many tastes, Hines thinks that Quake Con is going to go insane for the first DOOM gameplay.
After a somewhat lackluster E3 reveal of the game where id developers took the stage to basically show off a jpg (a common theme at Bethesda’s E3 2018 Press Conference), QuakeCon is a spot where Bethesda will have the stage all to themselves and an audience who is all about it. After all, this is the same crowd that were rolling down the aisles about still pictures of three video games. Hopefully EMTs are standing by.
QuakeCon 2018 will be going on from August 9-12. The DOOM Eternal gameplay reveal will take place during the keynote for the convention. The first DOOM Eternal gameplay trailer will happen sometime after the keynote begins at 11am CT on Friday.
DOOM isn’t the only game going to be featured at QuakeCon 2018. Bethesda fans are going to get a healthy dose of Fallout 76 at the convention. Bethesda plans a Fallout 76 developer panel and a Fan Q&A for the game on Saturday at 11am CT. Perhaps they’ll explain why Fallout 76 isn’t coming to Steam. There will also be a esports tournaments for Quake Champions and The Elder Scrolls: Legends during the show.
