EA’s Jade Raymond has posted a small update to what is going on with the Star Wars video games that are being worked on by Visceral Games and Motive Studios.

Raymond posted about what is going on via the EA website. In terms of Visceral Games, they are entering “an exciting phase of development“.  The game’s writer, Amy Hennig, has been talking with Lucasfilm personnel to craft “a new, authentic Star Wars story“. This means the game is likely to feature new characters and won’t be directly based on the movies.

Motive Studios is another developer working on a new Star Wars video game. Raymond noted that there are 65 veterans in the studio and they are adding new talent each week. The studio have just started working on their Star Wars video game as well as an original IP.

The best thing that Raymond said is that EA will be sharing “more updates in the months ahead“. We may hear of a few new Star Wars video games at the EA Play event later this month. Not to mention there is the Star Wars Celebration Europe event in July where more stuff could be announced.
