EA will not release a new Need for Speed game this year
EA will not release a new Need for Speed game this year. For the first time in over a decade, the Need for Speed franchise is taking a breather, with Ghost Games taking more time to work on the next installment of the popular racing series.
Electronic Arts confirmed the news in the company’s investor earnings conference. CEO Andrew House told investors that they’ve planned an “extended development window” for a higher quality title.
Ghosts Games last racer was released in 2013 with Need for Speed Rivals.
While EA will not be unveiling a new Need for Speed game at E3 2014, the company did say that they have six new games to reveal at the convention.
