Disney is set to film in Dubrovnik, Croatia in March for Star Wars: Episode 8 and preparations are already underway. Some very early set photos have been revealed showcasing some of the locations where the movie will be filming.
All of the photos were posted up by Dubrovnik Digest and StarWarsDubrovnik. Many fans have been taking some pictures of a few of the props and locations that will be used for the sets in Star Wars: Episode 8.
It’s too early to tell what the sets will actually look like, but it could be a new type of city on a planet we have never seen before. The Star Wars franchise has never filmed in Croatia before so the new locations will look different.
One of the things that Disney wanted to do in the new trilogy is film on real locations and use more practical effects. The Star Wars prequels were criticized heavily for its overuse of CGI. Most of the filming for the prequels took place in front of a green screen studio in Sydney, Australia.
It’s unlikely we’ll see much more of the sets for Star Wars: Episode 8 because Disney is trying to prevent any leaks from getting out.
