According to a recent rumor, an Elder Scrolls MMO could be announced as early as May. Tom’s Guide proposes that Bethesda is preparing to unveil a massively multiplayer game set in the Elder Scrolls universe taking place 1,000 years before the events of their latest game: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
Taking place during the “Second Era” this puts an Elder Scrolls MMO several hundred years away from other titles in the franchise. The tipster also provided a few interesting details about the unofficially announced title. In The Elder Scrolls MMO players will choose between three playable factions, represented by three species: A lion, dragon, and bird.
If Bethesda was planning on announcing this massive project in May, E3 would give the new title a ton of visibility and with the recent success of Skyrim a lot of buzz in the second half of the year.
This rumor comes on the heels of job listings that Zeni-Max had posted, which many had assumed would be for an eventual MMO in the Fallout Universe. Neither ZeniMax or Bethesda has commented on the rumors at this time.
