Bethesda Softworks has announced that the console version of The Elder Scrolls Online will arrive on June 9th, with no subscription required for these versions (or the PC and Mac). The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One launch of the MMORPG will allow players to explore Tamriel by only a one-time purchase.

The subscription-less model for The Elder Scrolls Online will hit PC and Mac on March 17th. All existing PC/Mac game accounts, open or closed , will be updated to the “Tamriel Unlimited” edition.

According to a press release from Bethesda, the free to play version dubbed “The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited” will feature “all the great gameplay from the original Pc/Mac game, plus all the updates and content additions, including the exciting new Justice and Champion systems.”

Bethesda plans to monetize the game with optional downloadable content, convenience and customization items. They say that regular updates to the MMO will be provided free of charge.
