While Half-Life 3 continues to be unconfirmed to the dismay of many gamers out there, the Opposing Force story is being continued via the efforts of a hardcore fan. The mod is called Prospekt and it is now available to download on Steam, with Valve giving the project the green light.
Here’s the game’s description from the Steam page: “Prospekt begins in the Nova Prospekt prison in the Half-Life universe. Gordon Freeman is slowly being overrun by soldiers in the prison, however unknown to him his Vortigaunt allies manage to find some help from a forgotten hero.”
The game was developed by the 25-year-old Richard Seabrook, without the help of anyone else. The game is described as being highly-polished and comparable to Half-Life 2: Episode One in size. While the license and assets were approved by Valve, the game includes many graphical updates over the original with new textures, models, lighting and a lot more.
You can download Prospekt for $9.99 and check out the trailer for the game below to see what it’s all about.
