Final Fantasy 7 Remake Announced To Boost Square Enix’s Portfolio

Square Enix has now revealed it was the right time to announce the Final Fantasy 7 Remake to boost the publisher’s portfolio.

The game’s director, Tetsuya Nomura, explained more on how the game came to be during a new interview with  Official PlayStation Magazine UK.

Nomura mentioned announcing Final Fantasy 7 Remake at E3 2015 was a perfect time to expand on the publisher’s portfolio. He also said the stars were aligned because he, Yoshinori Kitase and Kazushige Nojima were all available to start production for the game.

With these three key developers on board, they finally decided to go ahead with the project. They’ve announced several other upcoming games as well so Final Fantasy 7 Remake was just the icing on the cake.

Nomura also said there is obviously huge expectations for the game. Not only are the expectations huge, but the production of the game itself is pretty big too. Nomura said he’s looking forward to finishing the game as quick as he can and getting the final product to the fans.

A lot of discussions were had at Square Enix to see if they should go ahead with the game. Now we know they made the right decision and many fans are happy the remake is finally happening.
