Following the completion of “Episode Prompto,” the latest DLC for Final Fantasy XV that launches tomorrow, players will be able to have their first peek at the next character-focused DLC for FFXV: “Episode Ignis.”
A trailer appears after the story expansion is finished, which not only reveals a December 2017 release date, but also shows a scene from when Ignis was separated from the rest of the party.
As those who made it past roughly the first half of the game might recall, there is a point in the story when Noctis separates from the rest of the party when a disaster befalls the city they’re staying at. While the player controls Noctis to confront the source of this disaster; Ignis, Gladiolus and Prompto work together to deal with another set of foes. Once the crisis is averted, everything seems well enough when the group reunites, but it turns out something major happens which serves as a major source of tension for the group for a majority of the game’s second half.
Just like “Episode Gladiolus” and “Episode Prompto” before it, “Episode Ignis” will reveal the key events that transpired while the titular character was off on his own.
All the trailer shows is Ignis being pinned down by a group of soldiers and the person presumably responsible for his future predicament, so we’ll have to wait until December to see how it all plays out.
