Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae will be updated to Version 2.0 some time today. This is a pretty interesting turn of events, with the demo of a game getting a major update that changes key elements of the gameplay.
Owners of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD already have access to Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae, and should look out for the Version 2.0 update later on. Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae Version 2.0 changes a lot about the demo, with Square Enix releasing a list, and a trailer.
“You can now fight the Catoblepas! That’s the big monster in the lake. In version 2.0 one of them comes out of the lake onto land where you can fight it. Be careful though, it apparently takes 20 minutes to defeat with all four characters at level 99 and it can still knock you out in one hit.”
“You can now warp out of battle to certain locations. There’s a new dodge roll! New character interactions (in the field/environment and during camping). New team combo attacks using all four party members.Additional side quests involving just you/Noctis and one other party member.”
Catoblepas is the giant monster in the middle of the lake. Don’t just try to take him down for fun though, it will apparently take about 20 minutes to take him down, even if all of your characters are at level 99. Even with this, he is able to take you down with just one hit.
This isn’t all, but the developer would rather let players discover some stuff for themselves. Other items that are being worked on due to player feedback, but weren’t added in with this update include buying items in bulk, giving dropped items more specific uses, “richer” sounding music, and stamina changes.
Final Fantasy XV is due out in 2015 for PS4 and Xbox One.
