We were promised the first trailer for Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 this week and creator Scott Cawthon delivered by releasing it practically the next day. That trailer, which can be seen below, reveals a whole lot about the upcoming horror game, including a new setting and plenty of scary monsters that players will contend with.

The biggest shift for the series seems to be in Five Nights at Freddy’s 4’s new setting, which puts you in a house instead of the usual rundown pizzeria from the last three games. The trailer asks “what have you brought home” implying that the animatronic creatures from the last games have followed you there.

There also seem to be gameplay changes along with the new setting, with players able to move around the room at will. Previously players were stuck in a single location, utilizing the security system to view other areas. With the new home setting in Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 it seems like you’ll be moving a lot more.

Beyond this the game seems to be full of the same jump scares and evil, nightmarish creatures that fans have come to expect. This will be the fourth game in the series to have launched in just the last year, so it would have been easy for Cawthon to stick to the same formula, but FNAF4 seems to have the right amount of new elements, mixed with the classics that fans desire.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 4: The Final Chapter launches on August 8th with a free update coming on October 31st.
