Turn 10 have now added microtransactions into Forza Motorsport 6 via adding in a new feature called “tokens”.
Tokens can be used to purchase many things in the game. This includes cars, upgrades and Mod Cards. As reported by VideoGamer, Turn 10 actually said they wouldn’t add microtransactions unless “players are asking for it“. We do know they weren’t added at launch as they only came into the game recently.
The full breakdown of the costs of microtransaction were also listed in UK pounds: 100 Tokens – 79p, 325 Tokens – £2.39, 575 Tokens – £3.99, 1,250 Tokens – £7.99, 2,700 Tokens – £15.99, 8,000 Tokens – £39.99 and 20,000 Tokens – £64.99.
The official Xbox website has also listed some tokens for the game already. You can get 100 tokens for $0.99 USD. Tokens were added into the game stealthily as Turn 10 and Microsoft did not make a formal announcement on the topic.
Microstransactions are a sensitive topic as they are added to death in many free to play mobile games. However, many people feel they should not be added into full priced AAA video games but they are still prevalent. Halo 5: Guardians, Destiny and several other video games have added microtransactions too.
Do you feel microtransactions should be included in AAA video games or should they be abolished forever. Let us how you feel about it in the comments section.
