The GameCube adapter for Wii U released a little over a month ago, alongside Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, and if you’ve been following the events in that time, you know that it has been almost impossible to find in the time since. GameStop briefly had them for sale a couple weeks ago, but few were able to get in on this before they were sold out again. Nintendo promised last week that they certainly weren’t discontinued and more would be coming, but if you can’t wait, GameStop now has a rather expensive option for you.
The GameStop website now has a listing for a GameCube Adapter for Wii U bundle that also comes with four new GameCube controllers as well. Due to all of these being included, the price is rather steep at $139.95. This price does not save you anything either, as it is literally the $19.99 of the adapter and four controllers at the regular price of $29.99. However, right now this is one of the better options out there to get the adapter, as it is available to purchase on the website with a release date set for January 2.
Unlike the previous listing that sold out almost instantly that gave the date when it would go on sale, this one is already able to be added to the cart for purchase, said to be shipping on the January 2 release date. With eBay auctions going for around this price or more for the adapter alone, getting it and four controllers is a much better option for gamers, especially with the ability to use the four controllers at once in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. There is no telling how long this bundle will be available, so make sure to purchase it as soon as you can if you are interested.
