The Coalition is making Gears of War 4 its top priority so don’t expect new any DLC from the upcoming “Ultimate Edition”.
The Coalition Studio Head Rod Fergusson talked more about the future for Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on a recent stream (via DualShockers).
If you are expecting any new DLC to come out of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, you are slightly out of luck. All of the content planned for the game has been made already.
Fergusson said no additional DLC will be made because this will affect development on Gears of War 4. If they used the time to add new maps and content for the Ultimate Edition, this will impact the quality of the fourth game coming out next year.
However, The Coalition will still support Gears of War: Ultimate Edition in terms of tweaking and balancing the gameplay. They will also still add some patches too if the game has any bugs and issues when it launches.
Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is a remastered version of the original game so there’s no point for The Coalition to add any DLC for it. It’s rare for re-released games to have actual new DLC added to them.
