” I am going to kill Gabe Newell.  He is going to die,” the developer of Paranautical Activity wrote on Twitter  after running into problems launching his indie title on Steam.  As would be expected, Valve has since removed the game from its storefront, and cut ties with the developer.

The problem that prompted Mike Maulbeck, the developer on Paranautical Activity, to threaten Newell’s life?  The game was mislabeled as an early access title on the Steam Storefront.

Maulbeck didn’t only threaten to kill Gaben in this Twitter meltdown that got him banished from Steam, the developer also let loose on the popular PC games marketplace, calling Valve incompetent and calling it a monopoly.

Paranautical Activity had previously been in Steam’s Early Access program, and can currently be found on the Humble Store and other, smaller digital distribution outlets.   The launch trailer for the FPS rougelike can be found below.
