GTA Online Banned Word List Includes Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, and Others

Reddit user DamonPei has compiled what is allegedly a list of all of the words that Rockstar has banned users from saying inside of GTA Online via the in-game text messaging system. It’s a long list, containing some particularly foul language, but some have stuck out as particularly interesting, or funny. First up are the console manufacturers, Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft, but also players can’t say the words Rockstar, Rockstardev, or even Rstar. The consoles themselves are banned as well with Xbox and PlayStation being blocked, but Wii is still allowed. Some others that aren’t really profanity, but still banned within GTA Online are Mininova, Piratebay, Demonoid, and other piracy related terms. It seems like Rockstar has gone pretty far to make sure players can’t discuss topics outside of the game, that they don’t want them to.

Of course, the irony here, especially when it comes to profanity and sexual related terms, is that GTA Online and GTA V feature these elements quite heavily. Many words in the list are said throughout the GTA V campaign, and can even be heard while simply driving around the GTA Online world. Grand Theft Auto has always been a Mature rated series of games, and players are usually expected to be of a certain age, or maturity level before they are able to play the game. However, Rockstar has to cover themselves, and their players against possible online harassment. To see the full list of supposedly banned words you can click here, but be warned that some might find them offensive.

GTA V and GTA Online are available now on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.
