This year’s Halloween has been pretty impressive for gamers and Rockstar Games don’t want to miss out on the action. Like last year, GTA Online is getting a Halloween makeover but expect it to be entirely “alien.” The month is almost over and GTA Online players had been waiting for Rockstar to share some clues about this year’s Halloween event.
The developers have finally listened to the community and dropped a cryptic hint on Twitter. The tweet highlights a newspaper clipping from Los Santos Meteor, reporting a UFO sighting that has shaken the residents of Los Santos. Taking center stage is the headline that reads, “Strange lights spotted over Paleto Bay,” while the subheading remarks, “locals open fire at sky-limited casualties.” You can check out the tweet below.

While UFOs are not a rare phenomenon in GTA Online or GTA 5, this new tweet indeed makes the upcoming Halloween event in GTA Online more mysterious and compelling. Earlier, Rockstar had teased that GTA Online will host unique events that include “special surprises.” And even announced that there is a “possibility of some unusual activity occurring in and around Southern San Andreas.”
The new newspaper clipping reports that UFOs or “strange lights” were detected in Paleto Bay which is infamous for mysterious and goofy activities in GTA Online. Paleto Bay is at the foot of Mt. Chiliad. You can even spot a UFO hovering over the mountain if you visit the area during stormy weather at night, completing 100% of the story mode.Â
Earlier this Friday, Rockstar added a new UFO event in GTA Online ahead of this year’s Halloween event. You can observe UFOs at various locations from 10 PM to 3 AM in-game time during this event. These UFOs project a beam down to the ground and when you get close to the beam of light strange things start to happen. You will get hit by a bolt of electricity while the alien ship will disappear and if you are in a vehicle, it will cease to work.Â
The upcoming UFO Halloween event in GTA Online has no starting day as of writing this article. But expect new announcements soon. Going by the trend, GTA Online has been getting major content drops on Thursdays. However, without any official word from the developers these remain mere speculations and nothing else.Â
GTA VÂ is available now and playable on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.
