It was safe to assume that after the PlayStation 3 hacking fiasco of 2010 and 2011, the company would implement some design changes that would make hacking the console a thing of the past.  According to Andria Sang, new details have surfaced regarding the new console design, which has been rumored for quite some time.  The new model is more slender, consumes less energy, and of course, will probably be hack-proof (At least when it releases).

According to the reports, the new PlayStation 3 model will cut the weight of console down from 3.0 kg to 2.6 kg, will feature a 320 GB HDD, and reduce power consumption.  There doesn’t appear to be to many aethetic changes to the console, but what can you expect, when the design is likely just to implement better security for the console.

The new design will likely NOT look like the image above.
