Halo 5 was briefly teased at the Microsoft Press Conference at E3 2013. While we didn’t get much to go on by way of details at the conference, it was confirmed that the next chapter of Halo would arrive on the Xbox One as an exclusive.
Today, the Microsoft Store leaked the first details about Halo 5. In a blip on the online storefront: “In possession of a mysterious data chip, Petty Officer John-117, aka Master Chief, confronts a new battery of challenges and tests in a Herculean effort to stay alive in a galaxy where sentient life is mercilessly hunted. Pre-order the next chapter in the wildly popular Halo series designed exclusively for Xbox One.”
While we’re still calling it Halo 5 until we get an official title for the game, 343 Industries has noted that it won’t likely be this fifth numbered game in the franchise. What it will be is the continuation of the second trilogy, called Reclaimer.
According to Microsoft, Halo 5 is due in 2014.
