A new horror game with a very interesting premise has just started its Kickstarter campaign, asking for a relatively low amount of $75,000. The game is called Kaidan, which is described as a multiplayer horror game that gives you more than one way to play.
Kaidan allows you to either be the “haunter” or the “victim”, with the victims exploring a haunted house and the haunters stalking them and trying to scare them. Storytelling will play a major part, as well, with players apparently able to craft their own narratives.
The Kickstarter page says the following about the narrative system: “Storytellers create horror stories using our proprietary tool called the Kaidan System. Players of varying skill levels will find the Kaidan system both intuitive and deep; they can simply start by changing variables of pre-existing content or dive deeper, write backstories, design stages, riddles, puzzles and multiple endings. These stories will be shared in the community of players who can play and rate them.”
If you’re interested in Kaidan and want to back the game on Kickstarter, if you get in now you will get the Early Bird deal of getting the game for $15 instead of $20. Lots of other backer rewards are available, including deluxe and collector’s editions and even a $10,000 pledge that will put you in the game.
Kaidan is being developed by Metanoia Games for PlayStation 4 and PC, with an estimated release window of April 2017 being given on the Kickstarter page.
