We recently learned that Horizon: Zero Dawn’s day one patch was going to be pretty small compared to day one patches of most other games, and today we have the details regarding what the patch includes. Unsurprisingly, it doesn’t make any major alterations or additions to the game, and instead is focused on PS4 Pro support.

The developers said that “Horizon Zero dawn will receive a small day zero patch that will build upon PlayStation 4 Pro support, adding a Performance mode which will favor smoother framerates while delivering higher visual fidelity in the 1080p mode. This mode is available for both 4K and 1080p displays.” This can be accessed by going to the game’s menu and selecting settings, and then selecting the visual tab.

In case you’re unfamiliar with what the game’s all about, “Horizon Zero Dawn is an exhilarating new open-world action role playing game exclusively for the PlayStation 4 System, developed by the award winning Guerrilla Games, creators of PlayStation’s venerated Killzone franchise. Take on the role of skilled hunter Aloy as you explore a vibrant and lush world inhabited by mysterious mechanized creatures. Embark on a compelling, emotional journey and unravel mysteries of tribal societies, ancient artifacts and advanced technologies that will determine the fate of this planet, and of life itself.”

While Horizon: Zero Dawn won’t be released until next week, reviews for the game have already gone up and they have been extremely positive so far. We loved the game when we reviewed it, saying “the game will keep you invested, whether through the main story or even the countless side quests that add more lore to this intriguing world. Complete with a deep combat system and stunning visuals, Guerrilla Games has already raised the bar for exclusives this year with Horizon: Zero Dawn.”

Horizon: Zero Dawn will launch exclusively for PlayStation 4 on February 28th.
