Jak And Daxter Bundle Spotted On The PlayStation Store

Jak and Daxter was one of the series that helped build the PlayStation brand to what it is today. That’s why it seems so odd that the series has been mostly non-existent on Sony’s “PlayStation 2 Classics” catalog. However, that may soon change following a sighting of what appears to be a Jak and Daxter Bundle on the PlayStation Store.

The Jak and Daxter Bundle was spotted by reddit user empathetical who took a screenshot of the bundle in question, which features Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, as well as Jak II, Jak 3 and Jak X: Combat Racing.

To be clear, its not like the series isn’t represented at all on the PlayStation 4. Back in August, The Precursor Legacy was added to the PlayStation 2 Classics catalog as part of an Uncharted: The Lost Legacy pre-order promotion. However, that was just one game out of a six game series (Daxter and The Lost Frontier are PlayStation Portable and PlayStation Vita titles so there isn’t much chance of the appearing on the PlayStation 4).

Furthermore, the series’ absence from the PlayStation Store has been indicative of a larger issue with the PlayStation 2 Classics initiative: there haven’t been many legitimate classics to speak of. Granted, its hard to gain the rights to a game belonging to companies which may no longer exist (or even ones belonging to those that do especially if its going to be an HD release), but its still doesn’t erase the fact that there are an overwhelming amount of amazing titles on the PlayStation 2 which remain absent on the PlayStation 4.

Fortunately, the Jak and Daxter series will soon no longer be counted among them. As such, those who want to revisit (or discover) a time when Naughty Dog wasn’t known for Uncharted or The Last Of Us will soon get their wish.
