Today (November 1), the final Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct before the release of the game was held. As one would expect, lots of information was revealed, including the remaining characters who had yet to be announced. Right at the beginning of the Direct, two characters players had been expecting were confirmed.

First, the Direct revealed that Ken Masters from the Street Fighter series will be joining the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster as an Echo Fighter to fellow Street Fighter character Ryu. Director Masahiro Sakurai explains that Ken was basically an Echo Fighter in his own game, and therefore his moveset here will be pretty similar to Ryu’s. There will be some differences, however, such as how Ken is a bit faster than Ryu and has a stronger Shoryuken.

Shortly after Ken’s reveal, it was confirmed that the Pokémon Incineroar will be a playable fighter as well. Since the Fire/Dark-type Pokémon is designed to look like a wrestler, it will use a lot of wrestling techniques, such as strong throws, along with its Pokémon attacks, which include its signature move, Darkest Lariat.

The inclusion of these two fighters make up the last characters in the base roster of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, bringing the final roster count to 74 (counting Pokémon Trainer as a single fighter). The game is set to release on the Switch on December 7.
