Microsoft has made no secret of the fact that the Kinect is doing exceptionally well at retail.  The Xbox 360 motion controller is leading the sales charge for the brand, and has prompted many to purchase Microsoft’s do-everything system with its new journey into the casual gaming space.  The company which has seen industry leading sales for the Xbox 360 in recent months, attributes much of the new found success to the Kinect.

The Kinect recently garnered the title of “fastest selling consumer electronics device in history”, Peter Klein of Microsoft recently made comments about the device to investors.

“We delivered strong financial results despite a mixed PC environment, which demonstrates the strength and breadth of our businesses,” said Klein who is the chief financial officer at Microsoft. “Consumers are purchasing Office 2010, Xbox 360 and Kinect at tremendous rates, and businesses of all sizes are purchasing Microsoft platforms and applications.”

This success could continue even further as the company has made numerous claims over the past six months that there are a slew of core gaming experiences coming for the Kinect.  Although the last six months have been bone dry as far a content that the traditional Xbox gamer would enjoy.
