Kingdom Hearts 3 might have a mix of old and new worlds. It won’t just be full of new levels as some classic worlds might appear.
In a new interview with Game Informer, Kingdom Hearts 3’s co-director Tai Yasue talked more about the game’s worlds.
“It’s going to be a mix. Whenever we come up with worlds for Kingdom Hearts, we want to have them be varied. You don’t want the same type of world, so we will have different categories. That will make it feel fresh, like you’re having an adventure.”
When asked if we would see Star Wars or Marvel worlds/characters in Kingdom Hearts 3, Yasue didn’t want to share any details yet. He did say that “I enjoyed watching Frozen” so it’s likely that movie could feature as a new world. Frozen made over $1.2 billion worldwide so Square Enix wouldn’t ignore something so popular.
In terms of Kingdom Hearts 3’s development, it’s said to be at “full throttle”. This will make fans happy, although a release window has yet to be made. Yasue mentioned Square Enix will share more details about Kingdom Hearts 3 at upcoming video game events. They used E3 2014 to promote Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD instead.
Kingdom Hearts 3 will be released for the PS4 and Xbox One.
