Kitana Slices Her Way into Mortal Kombat 11

Once again, another fighter has been revealed for Mortal Kombat 11. As we knew from the TV spot earlier this week, the Kombat Kast today was focused on the inclusion of one of the most popular fighters in the series, Princess Kitana. The Edanian Princess returns to the fight with her trademarks Steel Fans, and she looks to be even deadlier than ever before.

If we didn’t know that she was royalty, then look no further than her fight introduction as she is literally being carried into the arena by her servants. If Kitana’s going to enter a fight, she’s going to do it in style. Speaking of fighting, Kitana’s quick and up tempo combat prowess is on full display here. She also combined this with her Steel Fans that can defy gravity and levitate people into the air for maximum juggling.

Since the weapons themselves are a featured more prominently in Mortal Kombat 11, Kitana holds the Steel Fans while fighting rather than having them sit on her side. Her Final Blow is all about the Fans, as she systematically dismantles her opponent with them, including a ferocious kick to the chest. But, as with all other reveals, her Fatality steals the show.

Kitana wastes no time as she throws her Fans at her opponent as they open inside of them, killing them instantly. To sub the salt in the wound, Kitana’s anti-gravity powers activate within the Fans as they hold the victims head up before she knocks them right into their temple. Kitana has always been a fan favorite of the series, and with moves like these, it appears she’ll continue to hold that distinction.

Mortal Kombat 11 launches on April 23 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. We were able to participate in the Online Beta and gave our impressions which you can check out here.
