It looks like Hideo Kojima’s name will not appear on the cover for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

We’ve known that Konami has been removing Hideo Kojima’s name from promotional art of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Now it looks like his name will not be appearing on the cover itself. A new cover has been revealed and his name is not there anymore.

CraveOnline supplied the image above looking at the before and after covers of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The cover on the left clearly shows “A Hideo Kojima Game” at the top. The cover on the right removes this entire sentence.

Hideo Kojima is still working very hard at completing Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Konami has not fired him or his team yet. The game is still scheduled to be released on September 2nd, 2015 worldwide.

Konami may have only been upset at Hideo Kojima for not wanting to make any more Metal Gear Solid games. Konami has already confirmed there will be more Metal Gear Solid games in the future after The Phantom Pain comes out.

We won’t know all the details until Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain comes out. Maybe Hideo Kojima can copy ex-WWE wrestler CM Punk and reveal all the details of what’s going on in a podcast in the future. In either case, something is strange going on between the two camps.
