When Adam Driver (Kylo Ren) spoke about Star Wars: Episode 8 recently, many people assumed he meant the movie will be dark and gritty. Driver has now clarified about the comments he made.
Driver spoke about the comments he made previously about Star Wars: Episode 8 during a new interview with Variety. It sounds like he wants people to know that the film isn’t all dark and gloomy after all.
He said: “No, no, and that’s not even what I said. What I said was the tone of it was different, I didn’t say that it was gonna be in the vein of [it]—I was using it as an example, so poor example. Next time I should say—I’m trying to think of another sequel to a movie that’s good. When I read the script, it was not what I expected, in the best of ways.”
Driver just wants to emphasize that the tone is different, which doesn’t mean the whole film will be dark. The film is going to be directed by Rian Johnson so it will have a different style to that of J.J. Abrams. Not to mention Episode 9 will also feel different as that movie is being directed by Jurassic World’s Colin Trevorrow.
