When Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon were announced, one of the big reveals was that cover Legendaries Solgaleo and Lunala would be getting new forms in the new games. Not much information about these new forms was given other than what they look like, but some fans were able to make assumptions based on just their physical appearances. Recently, some information regarding these forms seems to have leaked, confirming some fan suspicions as wells as providing new information.
According to Serebii.net, some pages from CoroCoro magazine have leaked and contain information about Solgaleo and Lunala’s new forms. Images from the leaked pages seem to confirm that these new forms come into being when either Solgaleo or Lunala fuse with another Legendary Pokémon, Necrozma. It would seem that this process will be somewhat similar to the fusing of Kyurem with either Zekrom or Reshiram that players could make happen in Pokémon Black 2 and White 2.
After translation, it is also revealed that these two new forms are actually new forms of Necrozma after it absorbs either Solgaleo or Lunala, rather than being new forms of Solgaleo and Lunala. The names of these new Necrozma forms appear to be “Necrozma Mane of Twilight” and “Necrozma Wings of Dawn.” Additionally, once Necrozma attains one of these new forms, it will gain the ability to use either Solgaleo’s or Lunala’s signature moves, Sunsteel Strike or Moongeist Beam respectively.
Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are scheduled to release on November 17 for the 3DS.
