The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess first released nearly a decade ago, which made it the perfect candidate to get the full HD treatment for Wii U. Set to release in less than a month, many have been wondering how much better the game would run and we now have that answer.

Digital Foundry is the best around at comparing games and analyzing their performance, which they have now done with The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD.

First of all, the best news is that the game is a native 1080p, so there is no upscaling involved here. They mention that Super Mario 3D World specifically was a 720p upscaled game, so it’s great to see this reaches 1080p natively.

On the frame rate side, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD does not run at 60fps, but rather at a locked 30fps. This is also how Wind Waker HD was when it released, so they are following a similar path there. Digital Foundry also states that the game has very few points where it dips below the 30fps, but they say those dips do not really cause any issues with the gameplay overall.

Look for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD to release exclusively on Wii U on March 4.
