Some time ago we reported that Sony and Capcom planned to release in December 2017 a limited edition PS4 Pro in Japan, featuring a special design based on the fire wyvern Rathalos from Monster Hunter: World. While at first it seemed like that version of the console was going to remain exclusive to japanese fans, it seems like the companies are growing confident on the success of the game in Western territories, as both the European and North American PlayStation blogs have announced today that the Limited Edition PS4 Pro will be launched in those territories along with the game on January 26.
The package includes a 1Tb PS4 Pro with the image of Rathalos on the front, a limited edition Dualshock 4 controller also featuring special imagery, and a physical copy of the standard version of the game. Additionally, those who purchase the bundle will also receive voucher codes to download an Origin Armour Set and a Fair Wind Charm Talisman to use in the game, as well as a dynamic theme for PS4.
Earlier this week it was revealed that the Limited Edition bundle will be exclusive to Micromania stores, and it seems like the strategy will be repeated in other countries, with the console being exclusive to GameStop in the United States, while it is also expected that other European retailers will also offer the console in exclusivity.
The Limited Edition Monster Hunter: World PS4 Pro will launch in Europe on January 26.
