It’s Super Bowl time again, which means it’s also time for the annual Madden prediction of the winner. This year Madden NFL 16 has predicted a Carolina Panthers victory, topping the Denver Broncos 24 to 20 off a goal line scramble touchdown. These predictions have actually been fairly accurate in the past, with Madden correctly calling nine out of the last twelve Super Bowls. This includes last year’s major upset, right down to the exact score of the game.
As far as Super Bowl 50 is concerned, the simulation had Carolina jumping out to an early lead, scoring a touchdown and a field goal just in the first quarter. The second quarter kept the momentum going, finishing the half at 17 to 0.
Denver fought back though, and came into the fourth quarter at just a four point deficit, 17 to 13. They then scored a touchdown that gave them their first lead of the game at 20 to 17. Unfortunately for them the Panthers fought back and scored a last minute touchdown to secure the victory.
According to the prediction, Panthers quarterback Cam Newton will earn the MVP award for Super Bowl 50, “completing 19 of 26 passes for 216 yards with one touchdown and one interception.”
Will this become the 10th accurate prediction from the Madden series? We’ll find out this weekend when Super Bowl 50 takes place.
