Ubisoft has unexpectedly released today the first major DLC expansion of Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, featuring more single-player challenges and a full campaign to be played in co-op mode. The details of this release had been kept in secret ever since the company announced their plans to keep supporting the game through coming updates, but hours ago some users started noticing that the description of the season pass on the eShop had been changed to include the release date of the two main DLC packages.
The new expansion is called Ultra Challenge Pack, and it should be available to all users who update the game to the latest version. The DLC is available separately or as part of the game’s season pass. The package includes a series of ‘Special Challenges’ that consist on new difficult maps that can be accessed from the secret areas from each world. On the other hand, there is a new campaign to be played in co-op mode called ‘Cataclysm Kerfuffle,’ which consists on five new maps with unlockable hard difficulty modes.
Additionally, thanks to this new update we know that the following major DLC pack, with a story focus, will be released on January 16th, 2018. Apart of these two expansions, the season pass gives players access to new ‘pixel’ and steampunk weapons. We gave the game a good review, and this extra content might be just what some people needed to give it a chance.
Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle is available now for Nintendo Switch. The Ultra Challenge Pack and Season Pass are available on Nintendo’s eShop.
