Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is easily one of the most anticipated games of 2015 and with the Tokyo Game Show just ending, we got plenty of new information about the game. In particular, we received new game footage showing off the mysterious Quiet in the game, but now some information has come to light that involves how you may never even meet Quiet in your playthrough.

The Phantom Pain implements what is known as a buddy system where Snake can use teammates to help out in battle, with two of the possible characters you can have in your team being Quiet and the recently revealed Wolf companion that we told you about earlier today. However, even with all the focus on Quiet over the last year or so, it is said to be possible to never even meet her in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

According to Hideo Kojima, depending on how you play the game, you may not come across her of the previously mentioned Wolf companion. This definitely pushes the idea of the much more open word rather than the more linear past Metal Gear Solid games. However, with Quiet not being a required piece of the puzzle in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, does that dismiss any of the theories of who she really is in the game? We’ll just have to wait and see when the game releases sometime in 2015.
