According to a recent report, Microsoft may be readying a Kinect compatible version of its Internet Explorer 9 browser for the Xbox 360. Likely playing sidekick to its Xbox Live Bing application, an internet browser on the Xbox 360 is one feature that fans have been calling for, for awhile.

Sony’s PlayStation 3 has had a web browser for as long as I can remember, but this isn’t likely a competitive move for Microsoft. Reported by Polygon, “Internet Explorer 360 will include integrated Kinect gestures and voice control, but the peripheral will not be necessary to use the browser. The report suggests that “The browser will let Xbox users surf all parts of the web straight from their living rooms.”

The Bing functionality that has been built into the new Xbox 360 dashboard, will function in the same ways. Although, instead of searching your Xbox and the Microsoft resources for queries, it’ll be tapped into the expanse of the internet.

With Microsoft said to be focused on the Xbox experience at E3 2012, we could hear more about this in a few short weeks.
